Will recently had the opportunity of visiting Savannah, Georgia, USA, where he enjoyed an extraordinary experience.
He was invited by Dr. Stephen Blackwood, the founder of Ralston College, a new university dedicated to human flourishing and committed to reviving and reinventing the traditional university model.
Will observed, “Above all else, Ralston ‘felt’ deeply meaningful. This is not a startup; it is a new university. Ralston is focused on building foundations for centuries of service to humanity rather than seeking a quick exit.”
The community at Ralston is thoughtfully exploring the significance of ritual in human nature, the role of tradition in sustaining an institution, and the profound responsibility they have to connect students with the fundamental ontological realities of truth, beauty, and goodness.
“I aspire for The School of Innovation to adopt a similarly profound sense of meaning and responsibility,” Will reflected, a sentiment that was sparked during a dinner with Ralston students, professors, and visiting guest lecturers from Cambridge University.
He also shared, “This trip has been one of the most significant experiences of my life. The hard work and fortune it took to journey from my humble beginnings in one of the UK’s poorest towns to the dining table at Ralston College has made me incredibly grateful for this difficult yet incredible journey.”
