• Met with Jo Johnson, the former Universities Minister, to discuss the 2017 Higher Education and Research Act and the importance of establishing new institutions in the UK.
• Appointed Joanne Roxburgh FRSA as Fractional Director of Education, drawing on her expertise in curating and launching online master’s programmes at Tomorrow University of Applied Sciences.
• Joined the Universities Association of Lifelong Learning (UALL) as an Associate Member, standing alongside institutions like The University of Oxford.
• Visited brilliant companies including Gymshark, what3words, and Google, to discuss how TSOI can contribute towards bridging the gap between higher education and industry.
• Collaborated with @Cambridge Centre for Social Innovation, gaining valuable insights from their Master’s programme to inform the development of our Social Innovation Pathway.
• Built the brand and website, and secured the trademark for The School of Innovation.
• Won North West Education Start-Up of the Year at the UK StartUp Awards.
• Joined the Global Alliance of Innovative Universities (GAIU), with Co-CEO Marielle, delivering a keynote speech at their annual summit in Korea.
The School of Innovation is raising its next funding round, on track to close within Q1 2025, enabling The School of Innovation to:
• Develop a pioneering curriculum with leading innovation academics and industry partners.
• Complete the accreditation application and supporting evidence.
• Recruit the founding cohort for the pilot course, launching in Q4 2025.
Substantial progress has already been made toward these goals, and 2025 promises to be another extraordinary chapter for The School of Innovation.
